The 5th annual East Falls ARTS BY THE RIVER AND ECO FAIR, on Saturday, October 2, 2010 from 10am - 5pm, will be the place to be for lovers of art and lovers of the environment. With great food, live entertainment, children's activities and vendors galore, the Arts By the River and Eco Fair promises to be a must-be-there event. This is a great opportunity for community arts groups and environmental organizations. Booth space is FREE to non-profits. Booths must be arts or environmentally themed.

"Thousands of people attended last year's event and with new, interactive features, we anticipate an even bigger gathering this year," says Gina Snyder, Executive Director of the East Falls Development Corporation. Adding to the excitement is an expansion of the Eco Fair with more eco vendors, eco art activities, eco demonstrations and information, and even a dog parade promoting the 'spokes-doggie' campaign being led by the Philadelphia Water Department in support of the ongoing neighborhood efforts to improve the Schuylkill River.

Further emphasizing the rich and diverse artistic tendencies of the neighborhood, the first-ever Arts by the River Gallery will feature resident artists of East Falls. Adding yet another layer of excitement to the event is the coinciding Philadelphia Open Studios Tour (POST) getting underway on October 2nd with over two dozen East Falls' artists participating as they throw open their studio doors and invite the public into their work spaces.

With such an array of activities, it's not hard to see that East Falls will be teaming with fun and excitement with the 5th Annual Arts by the River and Eco Fair. More information and an application can be found at www.eastfalls-pa.com. Please note, all organizations must have an arts or eco-related booth theme. Deadline is Aug. 31.
